New Staff at the Staff Ombuds Office

October 28, 2022

Following a nationwide search, Shatika Ricketts was appointed as the Assistant Ombudsperson for the Berkeley Staff Ombuds Office.  As the Assistant Ombudsperson, Shatika serves as a confidential point of contact for employees who need assistance in answering questions about ombuds services, conducting intake, providing conflict coaching, making referrals, and scheduling appointments.

Shatika holds a Master of Science in Conflict Management & Peacebuilding from Kennesaw State University and is a Registered Mediator for the State of Georgia.  Prior to coming to Berkeley, Shatika worked for seven years as a Dispute Analyst in the banking industry where she provided informal dispute resolution support and confidential case management.  Last year, she completed an internship at Justice for Georgia, a non-profit organization committed to assisting families experiencing civil injustice, and supported the implementation of healing circles for survivors of police brutality.
