As part of its systemic issue analysis work, the Staff Ombuds Office has issued reports every two years to give voice to employee concerns and provide recommendations for systemic change that promote Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Belonging and Justice (DEIBJ) in the workplace. These reports highlight issues that greatly impact employees who may feel marginalized or uncomfortable speaking up for themselves. By analyzing the challenges employees experience, we identify systemic solutions that are vital in achieving Berkeley’s strategic plan -- to provide a healthy campus climate that fosters equity of experience and a place where all members of the campus community feel safe, welcomed, and included.
UC BERKELEY, STAFF OMBUDS OFFICE REPORTS
Please note that each person who meets with an Ombuds is referred to as a Visitor. If a Visitor has a separate workplace problem involving different parties, they were counted more than once during the fiscal year. If you would like to speak with an Ombudsperson about any systemic issues identified, we are available for consultations and/or presentations for your unit.
