Shatika Ricketts, Assistant Ombudsperson (she, her)
Shatika Ricketts is the Assistant Ombudsperson of the Staff Ombuds Office at the University California, Berkeley. Shatika holds Master of Science in Conflict Management & Peacebuilding from Kennesaw State University and Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Fisk University. While at Berkeley, Shatika has completed the International Ombuds Association Foundations Training, has met the Ombuds Institute requirements for ombuds, and gained a certificate in the Cinergy Conflict Management Coaching Workshop. Prior to coming to Berkeley, Shatika worked for seven years as a Dispute Analyst in the banking industry where she provided informal dispute resolution support, confidential case management, and gained extensive experience in the financial sector. Shatika also became a Registered Mediator for the State of Georgia. In the summer months of 2021, she completed an internship at Justice for Georgia, a non-profit organization committed to assisting families experiencing civil injustice, racial inequalities, and supported the implementation of healing circles for survivors of police brutality.
